Our Giving and Grants
Since 1987, the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation has steadfastly supported leading non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and healthcare innovators across Loudoun County and throughout Virginia. The Foundation’s investments are designed to expand access to education and workforce training, address critical human resource needs, and build long-term capacity and infrastructure within our communities.
The Foundation primarily fulfills its mission through two types of grants: Invitational Grants and Claude Moore Scholars Grants.
We support non-profit organizations serving Loudoun County residents. Invited organizations cover critical needs in the community and may apply for either an unrestricted general operating support grant or a program-specific grant, depending on their needs. Invitations are typically sent yearly in the fall, with awards announced and funds disbursed in January of the following year.
The Claude Moore Scholars Program provides local school systems with grant funds to establish healthcare education programs for high school students that will meet local, regional, and state-wide workforce needs.
